We had our first experience carving pumpkins! The boys enjoyed the experience as each designed the face for their pumpkin. Dad did the carving at their direction. They got a bit gooey cleaning out the insides. Click the picture to see a few more.

So much fun! Have they even seen a pumpkin before this fall? Do they grow in Ethiopia? So many new traditions to start!
I asked that question today. They eat pumpkins in Ethiopia. Fraol told me his mother made pumpkin soup and he loved it. I told him we’d get Sarah’s recipe and make pumpkin soup so he could compare.
