Karshner Tigers At Last!

Daniel and David have both been excited to start school.  We decided to start with half-days and we really thought we would stick with that for quite a while.  However, after a week it became obvious that they were both acclimating amazingly well.  They are now attending school full-time plus they have quite a bit of “homework” that includes continued work on their language and math flashcards, etc.  We videotaped them after their first day of school on January 7.  We had to split the video into small enough segments to post, so the first one includes them getting settled in and then it’s primarily Daniel telling about his day.  The second clip is mostly David sharing about his day.  You can see the joy in their faces and hear it in their voices.  These clips also give a good feel for how they communicate now.

And here are the pictures:

  1. Yay!!! Aww, it makes me miss Karshner all the more. How awesome that they’ve adjusted so quickly. Lovin’ the videos, by the way!

  2. Hello! I have been following your blog since I discovered it from YWAM’s blog. Joy is my aunt! We leave in a few weeks to bring home our two boys from the Orphan and Widow’s home. I just read your review on where you stayed…Everyone who has left reviews gave perfect scores. I see that it is located near the airport, but where is it in relation to the embassy, Thomas Home, and any other CHI adoptive family activities…the late-night cultural dinner??? Also, our boys are younger than yours…nearly 4 and 6. When we go to the market to shop for souvenirs, would you feel it is fine to leave the young boys at the guest home? That seems so odd to me! Lastly, do you think it would be best for the boys to be at the place CHI recommends we stay since there may be other adopting families through CHI at the time??? What I mean is, do you see it as a negative thing if we are the only adopting family staying at a guest home? I thank you for your time, and feel free to respond to my email. I look forward to meeting you and your family someday when we get back to Washington (my beloved home state!) to visit family and friends. Thanks, and God bless!
