We are checked into our flights home!!! I can’t wait to see the boys’ faces when the pilot powers up for take-off. You should have seen them when we came into the airport and they saw an escalator for the first time! They were astonished and had ear-to-ear grins. We had to teach them how to get on and off.
We have talked to them about take-off, but they’ll be sitting together and I will be across the aisle next to Sary-Jo. This could get interesting.
The boys continue to make us laugh. They are so intelligent and so eager to please. In the last twenty minutes they captivated the airport cleaning crew and were speaking with them in Amharic. We have no idea what they were talking about, but the women smiled a lot as they talked with the boys.
As we face the next 28 hours of travel (assuming it’s on time), Sary-Jo is longing for Janel’s in-flight comfort. I’m just not up to Janel’s level when it comes to comforting Mom during travel.
We are incredibly excited to see everyone at Seatac. The boys are prepped and will give hugs quite easily. Pray for safe travel and the boys’ ability to comprehend it all. They’ve been fantastic!
More later.
How incredibly exciting! We know you can hardly wait to show them their new house and room and beds, etc. So wonderful to watch God’s handiwork as he blends your hearts into one blessed family.
Our love,
David & Barbara
We’ve been with you every step of the way since you left, praying and imagining where you were and just exactly when you got your hands on those precious little boys! Our realtor was at the house the other day and saw their pictures taped to the wall above the desk and he said, “Is that the Averill kids?”–“The Averill kids”…doesn’t that sound like music to your ears? The move hasn’t happened yet; more about that later. But blessings and much love to each of you!

How amazing! the blogs are great and have kept us updated, as well Sarah and Janel who have done a great job keeping us in the loop! 🙂 I am sorry I wont beable to make it to the airport tonite – work isnt the most flexible right now 🙁 but we are all excited to meet the boys soon! I LOVE Bela and Bus! How adorable! The boys will love their new “little surprises” and Im sure it will give them comfort in their transition to have something soft, furry, and huggable to love! 🙂 How fun is that?! Im glad your trip went well, without concerns, and that you are all back on U.S soil safely! 🙂 All my love to all of you and big hugs to the boys!!!! SO glad they are comfortable with the traditional Tavrytzky hugs! 🙂 Joany
We are bursting with joy for you and delighting in the Lord’s GOOD-ness!! What a God we have to create such a family! What a privilege to pray and see the results.
Best wishes and continued prayers for you all!
With love,
